Transitions

Transitions can be applied to slides (documents) and media in ProPresenter.

Slide Transitions are used for any content shown on slides and for Foregrounds within a presentation. The Media Transition is used for any Backgrounds in presentations, media cues added to a Playlist, and media in the Video/Image Bin.

Both transition sets can be applied globally from the main interface. To set the global slide and media transitions, click the scissor icon at the bottom of the screen. The one on the left is for slides, the one on the right is for media.

Slide transitions use blue icons to indicate the transition type.

Media transitions use green icons to indicate the transition type.

Some transitions include a setting for the direction of the transition and an option called Motion Extended which allows the transition animation to continue after the cue reaches the screen. This creates the sensation that the text or media exists in 3D space and continues further than the screen.

The global transition settings are available at any time from the bottom toolbar of ProPresenter. If the Video/Image Bin is open, the Slide Transition setting will be at the bottom of the slide area and the Media Transition will be at the bottom of the Video/Image Bin.

Documents feature the ability to override the global setting so that all slides on that document would use their own transition. If you normally use a one second Dissolve transition but need to use a different transition setting for a certain document, you can set the Document Transition in the upper right corner of the presentation.

You can also override both the global setting as well as the document setting on individual slides; simply right-click on a slide and select Transitions from the menu.

Similarly, you can set individual transitions for media cues in the Video/Image Bin. Right-click on any cue and select Transitions to set specific transitions.

You can also open the Cue Inspector for any media cue and set the transition there as well.
